I’m a total sucker for beautiful pencils. I don’t get to do it as much as I used to, but I still love getting out my sketch book and pencils, particularly in my garden. There’s nothing more perfect, in my view, than sitting on a warm, sunny afternoon, with a nice gin and tonic on the table, sketching the trees or the pond, or even my doggies.
I haven’t tried the Uni Pericia Colored Pencils yet, but I couldn’t resist clicking buy as soon as I saw them. I got the 12-pencil pack (I’m impulsive, but not crazy!), but they’re available in 24s and 36s as well. All of the packs come in a lovely faux leather case, which looks like overkill but I think is going to be a very sensible solution for carrying them around and organizing them. The lid folds back and presents the pencils in a tray-like fashion.
When my pencils arrive, and when I’ve sketched something worthwhile with them, I’ll post it here. Be kind. In the meantime, you can read a great review with loads of pictures on The Well Appointed Desk, if you want to know more.
